All three episodes of the BBC adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's novel starring Jessica Brown Findlay. Set in 1821 in Cornwall, Mary Yellan (Brown Findlay) is forced to stay with her Aunt Patience (Joanne Whalley) after her mother's untimely death. However, Mary quickly realises that her aunt's husband Joss Merlyn (Sean Harris) is a dangerous drunk who is using their inn to run a smuggling operation. She is drawn to Joss's younger brother Jem (Matthew McNulty) but is unsure if she can trust him in this place where trusting the wrong person could mean her death.
