These books contain minutes of the Committee's activities between the years 1885-1959. The General Committee was responsible as the policy-making body of the Refuge and covered legal issues. The Committee minute books highlight all procedures from admissions, maintenance and financial reports, through to events marking the Refuge's Diamond Jubilee and emigration activities. Also shows the changes in administration, highlighting the appointments of new trustees and committee members. Further sub-Committee minutes are also included in this series such as the Case Committee, Revision Committee and earlier books covering the Messenger and Industrial Brigade.
