Hulme, St Gabriel

The parish was formed by Order of the Council, 7 Aug 1869, (London Gazette, 10 Aug 1869), from St George's, Hulme and St Thomas', Old Trafford and the church was built in 1869.

Part of St Matthew's, Stretford, was added to St Gabriel's, by Order in Council, 13 May 1875, (London Gazette, 14 May 1875)

In 1949 part of St Hilda's, Old Trafford was joined to St Gabriel's.

By Order of Council, 29 May 1970 (London Gazette, 4 Jun 1970) St Gabriel's was united with St. Philip's, Hulme, becoming in 1973 the parish of the Ascension.
