Formed in 1886 as the Manchester 5th Primitive Methodist Circuit. After the Methodist Union in 1932 it became known as Stretford Methodist Circuit. In 1951 it amalgamated with Manchester (City Road) ex-Wesleyan Circuit to form Stretford and Urmston Methodist Circuit.
