Other circuits formed out of the 1st Circuit were Manchester 7th Primitive Methodist (Newton Heath) Circuit and Manchester 11th Primitive Methodist (Unsworth and Prestwich) Circuit. The New Islington Circuit was dissolved in 1947 and its remaining churches were re-united with the Higher Ardwick churches to form Manchester (Higher Ardwick and New Islington) Methodist Circuit.
