Founded as the Manchester Commercial Society in April 1794 at Spencer's Tavern, St Ann's Square, Manchester. Became the Manchester Chamber of Commerce in 1810 and later changed to the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1970. Now the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
