Alter (Abraham) Mistofsky, Mrs Kostick's grandfather founded the raincoat manufacturing firm which bears his name. This firm is still in existence in Dickinson St., Salford. Alter and Annie Mistovsky had 6 children (starting with the eldest and proceeding in order of age) - Mendel, Tilly (Matilda), Joe, Fanny (Mrs Kostick's mother), Hyman (Hym?) and Jane. The family lived at one time in Ramsgate St., Strangeways. By the mid 1930's they had moved to Queen's Drive, Prestwich.
