Mr Higginbotham is the present owner of the Majestic Cinema. It was opened by his grandfather, William Stanley Higginbotham, who converted his china and brush shop to the cinema in 1922, after forming the Majestic Picture House Co. Ltd. The photograph collection belonged to Mr Higginbotham's aunt, Doris Devereux Higginbotham, who was a shareholder in the company. The collection relates to William Stanley, Doris, her brother Stanley (Peter's father, and their friends and relations.
