Robert Chandley (donor) was born in Edgeley, Stockport in June 1929. His father Robert Chandley Snr. had a coach-building firm in Stockport near to the railway station and the donor went into the business for ten years until it folded up. Donor's mother, Elizabeth handley nee Boyle was born in 1897 and she had a ladies outfitters at one time. (Donor has a number of 9.5mm family films and two 16mm films belonging to Stockport Cine Society.)
