The church of the Holy Trinity was built by Thomas Carill Worsley of Platt.It was consecrated on 26 June 1846. A District was assigned to it by Order in Council, 8 June 1854 (London Gazette i6 June 1854), some of' which was assigned to Christ Church, Moss Side by Orders in Council, 31 July (London Gazette, 13 Aug 1858) and 6 Mar. (London Gazette, 7 Mar. 1902).
