Custodial history:
St. Mark's was built in 1794 on a site given by Thomas William Coke of Holkam, Norfolk, and consecrated on 24 July 1794. It was assigned as its District the township of Crumpsall and part of Cheetham by Order in Council, 14 Sept. 1838 (London Gazette, 29 March 1839). Part of Broughton was added by Order in Council, 24 June 1856 (London Gazette. 1 July 1856).
Some of the parish was assigned to St. Mary's, Crumpsall, in 1860, by Order in Council 26 Oct. (London Gazette, 30 October), and in 1901, by Order in Council 25 March (London Gazette, 29 March 1901), when some was also assigned to St. Thomas, Lower Crumpsall.
The boundaries were altered again in 1909 when part of St. Paul's, Kersal Moor, was added, by Order in Council, 18 October (London Gazette, 19 October 1909). Part of the parish was transferred to St Matthews, Crumpsall by order of the council 31 May 1910 (London Gazette 3 June 1910)
The church was declared redundant by Order in Council 27 October 1982, (London Gazette, 2 November 1982), and Hamilton Hall, Tetlow Lane was used for worship. This closed in 1996.
