Opened 1 January 1937 with 6 pupils from Liverpool Farm School. When pupils from Mobberley Open Air School M66/46 were moved to Styal the buildings were taken over by Mobberley Approved Boys School. Rebuilt and reopened 22 March 1968 by James Callaghan, Home Secretary. Closed in 1985 and reopened as a 'therapeutic community home' for Manchester children who had been abused at home [Knutsford Express Advertiser, 12 February 1986].
